Week 71 in Chihuahua - April 14, 2019 - A trip to Madera

yo yo yo whats upppp everyone?

This week has been a good week. First off, my mission presidente is leaving in July so he wants me to know the mission and the mission houses to be able to help the new mission president when he gets here.

Sooo we went to a place called Madera which is the farthest city in the entire mission. It's a 5 and half hour bus ride. Anyway when we are on the way to take the bus we remembered that its super cold in Madera and it even said online that it might snow over night and we didn't have a jacket or coat or anything. So i remember thinking like ohhh nooo we are going to suffer! We didn't have time to go back home to get a coat or anything so we just went in short sleeves.

It was pretty late at night and we weren't going to make it to Madera so we stopped in a city called Cuauhtemoc and spent the night with some other missionaries. We got into there and one of them was cleaning out his suitcase and said hey, "I don't know what I'm going to do with these coats, do you guys want them?" We tried them on and one fit me perfectly and the other fit my companion perfectly. There is no doubt in my mind that God was watching over us. He knows the beginning from the end. He knows all of us. He knows that I was gonna be dumb enough to not bring a coat to the coldest part of the mission.

And when we got there it was pretty darn cold. At night we had to start a fire in the fireplace to stay warm. It's way pretty in Madera! There is a bunch of trees and lakes. It's actually pretty dangerous down there though and the president usually doesn't send gringos over there because they are targets for robbings and stuff like that.

This week we found the coolest investigator. He was a reference from his friend who is a member. His name is Federico and he is so ready for the gospel in his life. He is so kind and accepting and so ready for the blessings that God offers him. I just hope that he understands that the gospel is the solution to all of his problems.

I loved conference. They give such beautiful and edifying talks that apply to everyone. I liked the part where president nelson said "el tiempo se esta acabando" (the time is running out).

Love you all have a great week!
