Week 89 in Chihuahua - August 19, 2019 - Lunch With The Missionaries
So this morning, we were able to play some soccer and basketball for our P day and boy am I sore and tired haha, but it was fun!
Today I'm going to treat some missionaries to lunch. I thought it would be fun and a good way to get to know everyone.
Kevin decided he didn't want to be baptized but that is okay and we still had a great week with 4 people coming to church with us for the first time.
Ya, so I started doing "Pinky Promises" with the people that I teach, making them promise that they will go to church on Sunday. It must have worked because we brought 4 people!
I don't seem to have a lot of time on my P days, so gotta run.
The picture is of our district.
Love to all!

Week 88 in Chihuahua - August 12, 2019 - Here Comes The Rain
Hello Everyone!
All is good here in the mission. I just finished getting my haircut (it looks "goodish") and we had lunch at KFC.
We are teaching a boy named Kevin, who is 16. He is progressing nicely and we might have a baptism date for this next Saturday.
Boy, my shoes are struggling! I may have to break down and buy another pair while I'm here. The soles are really uneven. We'll see how long they last!
So it has been raining a lot here lately and when it rains, it floods because there aren't any drains in the streets. The picture below is of my companion walking through the water.
Well, I'm really sorry this is so short, but I have a lot to do today.
Love to all!

Week 87 in Chihuahua - August 5, 2019 - District Leader
Hi,
Did I tell you that I'm District Leader? Haha, I thought I would get away from being a leader now that I am no longer assistant to the President, but nope! It's all good. I have to prepare a lesson today to give to my district.
So to answer you question Mom, no, I haven't seen any big spiders in my new city, just the normal sized ones, but I did find a cockroach in my bed the other night which was pretty gross!
I had a really cool experience this week but I'm not going to share it with you until I get home! You'll just have to wait and come to my homecoming to hear about it.
Well, I'm sorry this is short, but I have to go and prepare my presentation.
Have a great week everyone!
Love to all!

Week 86 in Chihuahua - July 29, 2019 - A Little Football and A Little Service
We've had a fun week. We got to play a little football or as you would call it, soccer and we helped to put some new cement in a house as some service.
That is so cool that Chandler is back from his mission and that he came to see you. Tell him hi for me.
We are settled in to our apartment and our new area. I've really had to concentrate on where I'm going because I've never opened a new territory before. I couldn't just go to our apartment and I couldn't just go to church, or catch a bus because I didn't even know where anything was! But I'm slowly learning and so it is all good.
So the other day we passed a kid on the street who was about 16 years of age and I had the impression that we should talk to him. So we asked him if we could give him a message or meet him at this home and he said yes, to come to his home! So we followed him and gave him the message and he was really interested and wanted to come to church the following Sunday.
So when Sunday came, we went to his house to pick him up and when we knocked on the door, his mom answered and said I'll go get him. Well she took so long, we just knew he was in bed asleep and sure enough, when he came to the door, he was shirtless and looked like he had just got out of bed. We told him we would wait for him to get ready for church but he said he didn't think he could go, but we were really persistent and so finally he said he would go.
As we walked into the church, someone greeted him by name (his cousin) and then someone else greeted him by name (his neighbor) so we thought, GREAT! This guy already knows people at church!
So after sacrament, we took him to his Sunday School class and after it was finished we went to pick him up and some member was trying to sign this kid up for EFY that started the very next day. He was talking about the list that this kid would need, shoes, dress clothes, bus ticket, scriptures, etc. I thought, oh boy, now that is going to overwhelm this kid. EFY is overwhelming for us members, haha.
Anyway, the kid couldn't go which is probably good because I think it was too much too soon, but hey, good job to the member who was trying to include this kid in everything!!
The pictures below are of our soccer team and of us putting cement in a house. I have a funny look in the picture, but it really was a cool service project and we had a lot of fun helping out.
Have a great week!
