Today we helped Sister Montoya move some stuff. I'm going to miss them when they leave the mission!
This week we traveled a ton! I'm really tired! We went to La Sierra and Cuauhtemoc and Parral.
But the best part of this week is that Yalina and her family are getting baptized this coming Saturday!! I'm so excited for them.
I'm sorry I don't have much time today. I'll write a nice long email next week and catch everyone up with the baptism and other stuff.
Love you all!

Week 80 in Chihuahua - June 15, 2019 - Happy Father's Day!
Happy Father's Day Dad! Can't wait to talk to you tomorrow....probably around 3:30ish.
We had another great week. Funny story for the week, a woman came up to us in the street and said, "Hey are you the guys that can give messages about the Bible?" and we said, "Absolutely!" so she asked if we could come to her home and give her a message.
When we got there she had a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other hand. She has been drinking and smoking since she was about 12 years old. We told her that it wasn't good for her and she should try to stop. As we were giving her the message, she said, "Hold on a minute" and went back to get another beer and another cigarette.
We went back and visited her the next day and she said she wanted to stop drinking and smoking and wants us to check on her every day so we can motivate her to stop. So far she has gone 3 days without smoking and drinking which she said she has never done in her life.
Well, my companion needs a hair cut, I have to buy some bus tickets for some missionaries and we have some appointments later on today, so I have to run.
Have a great week everyone!
Love,
Elder Lignell

Week 79 in Chihuahua - June 8, 2019 - Last Cycle As An Assistant
Well, this is my last cycle as an assistant to the President. Yesterday was my last training session where I have to teach. If for some reason, it isn't my last cycle, then I will have some more training sessions to do. I feel pretty comfortable teaching in Spanish here now. Who knows how I would do in English!!
We haven't been able to teach our 3 investigators this week because the Mom has had to work a lot, but she is still really excited to come to church.
Last Sunday when the mom and her two children came to church it was just awesome. The Spirit was super strong and all of the testimonies and the classes were great too. I really feel like it was because of the fasting that we did.
We had lunch at Subway today. Just like back at home. haha It is pretty much the same as it is at home which is nice.
I have to go though. Love you all sooooo much. I will see you soon :)
Have a good week!

Week 78 in Chihuahua - June 1, 2019 - The Sun Didn't Bother Me
Good afternoon all.
We have had an outstanding week here in nuevo paraiso. We are teaching a family of 3. They are so awesome. I'm pretty sure that they will get baptized. I don't think that I have every tried so hard in the lessons and in church to make them feel comfortable and to teach them clearly and simply. They have a date for the 15th of June. They live about an hour away from our house. It's literally the last house of our area.
Yesterday we were walking to their house and it was super hot and I was tired and we were going to bring them to the church for an activity and so I called them to make sure that there were going to be able to come and then when Yalina said that she would and that she was excited, I got like a burst of energy and so I wasn't tired any more and the sun didn't bother me and I started walking a lot faster haha.
People like them make the hard things of the mission not hard. In these past few days I've felt like the Holy Ghost has been able to guide my words in the lessons and in prayers and in the thingsIi say more than I have ever felt in my mission. It sure is a weird but beautiful feeling!

Week 77 in Chihuahua - May 25, 2019 - 3 Hour Bus Ride To Ojinaga
Okay, so a lot to cover this week.
First of all, our mission president did tell us about the missionary who died in Mexico. That was so sad. He had everyone check their houses to make sure that all were safe. And don't worry mom, our water heater is outside.
We found a super cool family of 3 that I think will get baptized. A mother, son and daughter. The father doesn't live with them and the mother has never spoken about the father and so I've never asked.
We traveled to the city of Ojinaga which was a 3 hour bus ride one way. It borders Texas and it is super hot over there, but luckily, I still have my sombrero.. I met the member who travels to Texas all the time to pick up our packages so they can be shipped to a U.S. address instead of a Mexico address. I told him thanks so much for doing this for us missionaries. He is a way cool guy, super nice and friendly and he gave us food while were there.
I got my new shoulder bag Mom, thanks so much. It is great and it will last me until the end of my mission.
That was a way cool story you told me from Mark Hesterman that he shared in his talk in church, the one about the Hoffman dude. I honestly don't know if I would be able to hug a man that had killed my son. I don't think I could hug a man who had killed my cat!
The pictures are of me teaching a training session to some missionaries, one of me in class with the president and a couple of me and my companions.
Have a great week everyone!
