Week 67 in Chihuahua - March 18, 2019 - I'm Surviving My New Assignment :)

yo yo what's up everyone...I am no longer in Delicias,  I'm back in Chihuahua.  

I miss Delicias for the free burritos everyday hahaha. I feel like I haven't written in a long time... 

I'm now working a little closer to the mission president as an assistant..

I felt pretty uncomfortable at first with this assignment but now I feel better. On Saturday I had to give a training session to all the zone leaders and then another training session in Parral and the second training session was less scary than the first.

It is way cool to be close to the president because he is such a spiritual guy and I love learning from him and seeing how he deals with difficult situations in the mission. I heard that Cristian's brother got baptized in Delicias which is way cool. We went to Parral on Saturday and I got to see all the converts we had over there which was way cool. Marcelino is doing soooo good. We went to visit him in the morning on Saturday and he's doing so good in the church. I was sad though because I wasn't able to see his granddaughters. They are like 12 and 9 and they are teaching their friends the gospel who are like 9 and 14.

I still remember the first time they went to church, it was a primary program day and the president of the primary snatched them up and made them read a scripture in front of the whole congregation as part of the program. The poor girls were way nervous but I've heard that they now are super comfortable in the church with a bunch of friends.

It's really really cool seeing people that I have meet over the time. It's really easy to love the people of Chihuahua and you kinda feel like you are seeing a family member again after a long time. 

Anyway in these days I've learned the importance of completing the will of God and not mine.  It's a commandment that we love Him over all things and that love can and should be shown by doing whatever He needs you to do.  He will never abandon us and will guide us every step of the way.

Week 66 in Chihuahua - March 11, 2019 - New Assignment

Jacob has been called to be an assistant to the mission president and so his Pdays will now be on Saturdays instead of Mondays.

Week 65 in Chihuahua - March 4, 2019 - Just a Few Holes

Buenas tardes todos! hows everyone doing... all is good over here in Delicias.

Quick summary of everything that has happened lately. #1 - Christian (the one that got baptized a couple weeks ago) is doing great! He has come to church ever single Sunday and is way smart and learns way fast in the classes. He said he just feels so good about things when he is with the missionaries and when he is in church. His brothers couldn't come to church because they had to work which was sad because now they can't get baptized until the next Saturday but it's ok because we talked with their mom and she said that they won't have to work on Sundays from now on so they will be able to go to church.

# 2 -  We were contacting yesterday and a girl said hello to us with a big smile and I felt the impression to contact her and so as she was walking away I said, "Hey can I give you a card and she said yes and we starting talking and she said that her brother had been baptized and that she wants to get baptized too but she had been waiting for the missionaries to go to her house to visit her.

We asked for the names of the missionaries and it turns out the  missionaries who visited her had gone home a long time ago haha so she was going to be waiting quite some time.

#3 - We had a meeting with Elder Valensuela( a general authority) it was a great meeting. We talked about 3rd Nephi 11 and at the end he testified to us of the truth of this gospel and church and there was so much power in his testimony that it honestly was one of the most spiritual experiences I've had in the mission.. and afterward Elder Valensuela interviewed 5 missionaries starting with me!!! Dang I was nervous getting interviewed by a general authority but it was actually way fun. He is a super cool guy.

Week 64 in Chihuahua - February 18, 2019 - Fun phone calls!

Jacob was able to call home today and it is so fun to hear his voice.  It is getting hot there in Delicias but he as a terrific companion and he is enjoying that work that he is doing so very much.

Week 63 in Chihuahua - February 11, 2019 - So Fun To Talk To Jacob!!

So, Jacob was able to Skype with us today.  It was wonderful!!  He is doing fantastic.  He is very happy because he and his companion just baptized Christian and he said Christian is the coolest guy ever.

The bishop of their ward loaned his laptop to Jacob and his companion,

The pictures are of Christian's baptism and the other picture is of their room.  There is a contest that they have every month to see who has the cleanest room so he and his companion were determined to win this time. He was very proud of the results and took a picture to prove to us how clean it was.  I'll have to update everyone whether he won or not because he didn't know yet.
