Week 46 in Chihuahua - October 22, 2018 - All That Work Just To Get Soaked!

It's been a good week. Susy  our awesome investigator  finally was home and we found her  but she was way sick so we gave her a blessing and it was super cool because right after we gave her the blessing she stoped  shaking from being cold and and started feeling better.. it was soo cool and crazy because it literally happened like 10 seconds  after the blessing. But she didn't come to church and basically rejected us the next day..... we passed by her house and she pretended to not be home.

When that happened I got super sad to be honest and was really confused. We are gonna pass by a couple more times though and I'm still way confident that she will accept us and go to church... she is too cool to not get baptized haha.

I can't remember if I told you all this but a little while ago me and my companion were going to visit someone but we couldn't get to her house because a river was flowing through the road. We thought about waiting for a truck or something to pass by and so we wouldn't get wet but we didn't see any cars for like a few minutes and so we decided to pass by on some rocks in the river that we could see from a distance.

We had to hop a fence and get around a  bunch of stuff just to get to these rocks, and during this time we saw like 4 trucks pass by that could have given us a ride haha. Anyway we finally made it to the rocks  like 20 minutes later and we started to cross the river.  The last rock that I had to use to make like a 5 foot jump to the other side of the river was really slippery but I thought to  myself naaah I got this so I went for it and slipped and fell straight into the river.

All that work just to get soaked and waste a bunch of time. I looked back to my companion and he learned from my mistake and was more careful as he made the  jump to the other side of the river.  Instead of getting mad I decided that it was pretty dang funny and me and my companion  had a good laugh.

Thinking back on the story I feel like we can relate it to our daily lives. Sometimes we go to such great lengths to avoid something.  We waste time and efforts trying to weasel our way out of doing something seemingly hard. I imagine the trucks that passed by as the gospel of Jesus Christ, and Jesus was the driver. He can easily help us with what we need, we just need to trust him and rely on him insted of trying to do everything on our own.  That's what I could learn from this experience and I hope you all can get something out of it too.!!!!

I love you all,  have a good one!

Week 45 in Chihuahua - October 15, 2018 - Playing Basketball With The Mission President

yo yo yo what's up everybody. Today has been a good day.

I had to come to Chihuahua the city to update my green card because I have a year in the mission coming up which is crazy... we played basketball this morning and the president of our mission came to play with us which was pretty fun... me, the president and elder corona were on a team and we couldn't be stopped!! Even when the other team had an extra player hahaha.

This week was a good week. We are meeting sooo many people that are just sooo ready for the gospel in their lives. There was one time during the week that we contacted like 8 people in a row that were very cool and me and my comp said to each other and he said why does the lord bless us so much?!! It's cool because the people we are finding perfectly fit the description of Doctrine and Covenants when it says that there are people that are looking for the truth but they just don't know where to find it.. oh yeah and something cool... because my companion speaks English and Spanish I decided to teach him "ob" (when you add "ob" before very vowel sound.) And he's super smart so he has already got it down and so now we can speak in Spanish or English or Spanish "ob" or English "ob".... hahaha we have a lot of fun together.

That's all I got for this week. LOVE YOU ALL!!

Week 44 in Chihuahua - October 8, 2018 - Conference was fantastic!

Wow what a week everyone. There's this lady that we are teaching and here name is Susy. I can't remember if I have already talked about here and I'm too lazy to check my last email hahaha but she is so awesome... so last week she went to church and we visited her on Tuesday and we were about to start teaching her when she started telling us about all the blessings that she has seen in her life ever since she went to church and decided to be baptized.. She found work and her brother is going to give here a place to live and a bunch of other things. As she was telling us about all the blessing and stuff me and my companion just looked at each other with just such a satisfying feeling knowing that she was so ready to accept the gospel into her life. It's moments like that that really motivate me when I don't feel like working and its a billion degrees outside and I'm tired or stuff like that.

Conference was fantastic. We are soo blessed to have prophets and apostles that help us in every aspect of our life. This morning we woke up at 5 am to go climb a mountain as a zone... it was dope. I want to finish this email with my testimony. I really do know that following the teachings of Jesus Christ will make us make happy. Even though it's not always easy to do. But it's not supposed to be easy. The simple fact that following his teachings will allow us to go back to live with him and God forever with our families in a never ending state of peace and happiness, can give us all the hope that we need in this world. It really is worth it. I love you all. Have a great week!

Week 43 in Chihuahua - October 1, 2018 - Spanglish

Wow.... what a week.

We have been working sooo hard this week. We even had an appointment today haha on our pday at 10 in the morning.

About a month ago we had contacted a lady named Susy and we just barely found her this week and taught her and she is suuuuuuper awesome... she so ready to be baptized and she went to church and loved it and is way pumped for general conference next week.

I wanna find like 10 more people like here! Me and my companion, Elder Serrano, get along way good! He speaks like perfect English and so we usually speak spanglish throughout the day haha.

Funny story... the other day we were walking and my comp said good night to a lady on the street and she started freaking out and screaming at us and and swearing a ton in spanish and english hahaha, she followed us for like 7 minutes. But it was really sooo weird how angry she was. I hope she doesn't ever see where we live cuz I bet she would try to kill us.

I'm super pumped for general conference next week!! It's gonna be a good one. Thats all I got for this week I love you all!
