It's been a good week. Susy our awesome
investigator finally was home and we found her but she was way sick so we gave
her a blessing and it was super cool because right after we gave her the blessing
she stoped shaking from being cold and and started feeling better.. it was soo
cool and crazy because it literally happened like 10 seconds after the blessing. But she didn't come to church and basically rejected us the next day.....
we passed by her house and she pretended to not be home.
When that happened I got
super sad to be honest and was really confused. We are gonna pass by a couple more times though and I'm still way confident that she will accept us and
go to church... she is too cool to not get baptized haha.
I can't remember if I
told you all this but a little while ago me and my companion were going to visit
someone but we couldn't get to her house because a river was flowing through the road. We thought about waiting for a truck or something to pass by and so we wouldn't get wet but we didn't
see any cars for like a few minutes and so we decided to pass by on some rocks in
the river that we could see from a distance.
We had to hop a fence and get
around a bunch of stuff just to get to these rocks, and during this time we saw
like 4 trucks pass by that could have given us a ride haha. Anyway we finally
made it to the rocks like 20 minutes later and we started to cross the river. The last rock that I had to use to make like a 5 foot jump to the other side of
the river was really slippery but I thought to myself naaah I got this so I
went for it and slipped and fell straight into the river.
All that work just to get
soaked and waste a bunch of time. I looked back to my companion and he learned from my mistake
and was more careful as he made the jump to the other side of the river. Instead
of getting mad I decided that it was pretty dang funny and me and my companion had a
good laugh.
Thinking back on the story I feel like we can relate it to our
daily lives. Sometimes we go to such great lengths to avoid something. We
waste time and efforts trying to weasel our way out of doing something seemingly
hard. I imagine the trucks that passed by as the gospel of Jesus Christ, and Jesus was the driver. He can easily help us with what we need, we just need to
trust him and rely on him insted of trying to do everything on our own. That's
what I could learn from this experience and I hope you all can get something out of
it too.!!!!
I love you all, have a good one!
