Week 23 in Chihuahua - May 14, 2018 - So Fun To Talk To My Family!

HELLO! ok so this week was awesome. It was way fun to talk to my family haha. But that is definitely a hard call to end. It was great to seem them all happy and heathly and safe!

 

Nothing too crazy happened this week we just worked a lot and brought 2 people to church. We were going to  bring more but the member who was going to help us with a ride got sick which was rough and we were teaching another family and I thought we were going to bring all of them to church because the mom of the family  was super receptive and everthing until we told her that church was at 8:30 and shes like hmmmm I really would go but haha but thats just soooo early and I was like hmmmm okay haha. I can't judge too hard because before the mission waking up eary for church or school was something I was perfect at hahha but her son did end up coming with us which was cool. The only problem was there was a baby like fighting with her mom right next to us at it was so loud and distracting hahah it wasn't like the normal crying this little girl was punching her mom.

 

Today has been pretty good so far we went and played soccer and basketball at the church and ate some food but then a lady showed up with her family and needed help with something. So we all went and sat down in a room in the church and this lady was from the US and she was with her kids but they got taken away from her because her husband was involved in bad stuff and the people he worked with found out who his wife was which was the lady we were talking to and they like tortured her and she showed up with a whole bunch of burn marks on her body where people had burned her.

 

She spoke pretty good Spanish but there were some things she didn't understand so I was translating for her.  We taught her and gave her a book of mormon and when she left she looked a lot more calm. It was a very cool experience. But yeah thats all I got for this week.

Week 22 in Chihuahua - May 7, 2018 - Another Great Week

Well another great week in the mission.  We had a baptism on Saturday.  I don't have time today to give any details but I'll fill you in next week.  Unfortunately, they had cupcakes at the baptism and I ate one after we began our fast, haha, but other than that it was good.

I finally received all of your letters mom!  And I got Aunt DD's too.  Leave it to you to put comics from the newspapers in my letters. I love them all.  No packages yet but I know they will come eventually. Mom, I've been praying that your teaching in church will go good and you won't be as nervous.  I loved all the pictures of the house you sent me and the yard, everything looks great.

We had Elder Oaks come talk to us.  It was awesome.  Our group picture was fun and good timing so we have a nice picture for Mother's Day.

I'm really sorry this is so short this week but I'm super pumped to talk to you on Mother's Day!

Week 21 in Chihuahua - 6 Months in the Mission

Yoooo everyone,  life is good out here in Chihuahua. We're just out here echando las ganas (giving it our all).

 

I have a little more than 6 months out here and I'm feeling pretty good with the Spanish. But if someone talks to me who is really old and doesn't have any teeth or just a drunk person I usually can't understand anything hahaha but life is good.

 

We are teaching 2 families right now and they are both really good. The dad of one family has a absolutly crazy background haha but I'm too lazy to write the whole story so just remind me to tell you all about it when we face time on mothers day.

 

The other family is cool too. The mom of that family the other day said I really have been looking for a religion that just fills me spiritually. It's cool to see how God really does put poeple in front of us that are ready to receive the gospel.

 

And oh holy goodness gracious.... there are tornados here and they get sooooooooo big it's crazy hahah I love it so much. Like the last won I saw was honestly like 4 football fields high into the sky, trash is blowing everywhere and it's really just a crazy sight. I'll get a picture of one of them one of these days.

 

I found a black widow in the house yesterday. luckily it was dying from the poisen already. There are so many here. I would not be surprised if I get bit haha (not joking). The heat here is starting to get to me. It's really a desert here and almost nothing can grow because it's so hot! But it's all good. I'm having fun! That's all I got for this week. John 8:12.
