Week 20 in Chihuahua - Bigger Problem Than The Cockroaches

So this week was alright.

We worked hard and had a baptism this Saturday but when we went to the lady's house she had disappeared and so we waited at her house for like an hour and a half and her son finally showed up and he just told us that she left with some dude and wouldn't be back until Monday.

So that was that fun because there was a whole bunch of members waiting at the church with cake and everything.

We finally got some poison for the house and we fumigated the house really good and came home to a bunch of dead cockroaches and spiders yay!

And  I found a huge black widow right next to our door  and it was terrifying. When we were fumigating my comp spilled a ton of poison right on to his toothpaste. I felt bad for laughing but it was just too funny.

I'm learning patience here in a way that I couldn't have ever learned it without these trials and with all of my packages taking 5 years to get here. haha

I did a capacitacion for my district for 45 minutes this last week.  It is like a training session.

I'm sorry but I don't have a lot of time so I have to go.

Love ya all
This is the black widow right outside our front door.
We killed it before it could make its way inside!

Week 19 in Chihuahua - April 16, 2018 - New Apartment, New City, New Compaion, Same Old Cockroaches

Okay... its been a good week.

Me and new comp get along good which is nice and we teach well together.

We brought 2 people to church which was cool because my comp told me that him and his last comp hadn't brought anyone to church for the last 3 weeks and he was feeling pretty stressed.

We found a family that's pretty cool. The mom of the family is from Denver which is cool because we can talk in English sometimes.

They opened up to us pretty good and we found out that they're super poor and sometimes don't have food to feed their kids. So we cooked them awesome meal one day. We bought cookies and lemonade for the kids and it was awesome to see how excited they were.

But yeah they are cool and we have like 4 investigators that are progressing right now. The area is alright over here. There are a bunch of tornados that are actually really big which is pretty cool and there are a bunch of dogs that are way aggressive haha.

I'm trying this new technique with the dogs. When they charge I stand on my tipi toes and start flapping my arms like a bird while letting out a ear piercing screech. It's pretty darn effective haha

The dogs really don't know what to think, the only problem is that sometimes there are people around us and I don't want them to think that I'm crazy or something but oh well.

The house in the area is alright but there are so many cockroaches and spiders, it is horrible. We visited a member one day who literally had like 45 cockroaches on her walls that I could see hahah ohhh man gotta love it but that's all I got for this week.

Love you all.

Week 18 in Chihuahua - April 9, 2018

Well... I finished up my time in the city of  Rio Sacramento. I had been there for almost for 4 months. I had a lot of good memories in that area but I'm ready to be in a new area.

My area now is called Portales and its only like 30 minutes from my old area..... lol it's all good though. I was told that I was going to an area called Parral which is 3 hours away but this morning the President called me saying that there was a change of plans becasue an elder didn't arrive from the ccm (Mexico MTC) and so my area had been changed but it's all good. I'm happy here and I know that the lord knows what's best for me.

My last couple of days were way good in Rio Sacramento. I felt good about teaching and my Spanish was clicking and all was good.

I was eating at KFC and they gave me my food and it took them like 20 minutes to make it and they gave me a tub of coleslaw and it was like a quater full so I was a little sad about that. And then all of a sudden when I was eating a chicken leg I bit into something really hard and I thought there's no way I'm already down to the bone. So I checked in my mouth and it was a bar of metal and that's when I got really mad. I thought it took them 20 minutes to make some bad food and they put metal bars in my chicken! But I quickly came to realize that the bar was my permanent retainer hahah gotta love that.

We were in a house and there was a wasp in the house and it was sooooo big this wasp was like huuuuge and it was flying and came over by us so we started freaking out haha and we couldn't find it so we were way paranoid and scared... then all of the sudden we saw the wasp about an inch from this grandpa's hand so I told him to be careful and he looked down and tried to pick up the wasp and throw it at us and it stuck to his hand and he couldn't but it was really scary and I can't believe he didn't get stung.

Also one of our members thought was baptised but it turns out that he wasn't because when he turned 7 years old he really wanted to get baptised so his parents did a fake one for him and then never ended up doing a real one. That was a new one on us!

I bore my testimony last Sunday and I wasn't that nervous so that was a nice thing.

My new companion is great.  He likes to cook and so he does the cooking and I do the dishes.  We are a good team.  And he likes to work a lot so that makes me happy. My new apartment is good but I just don't fit in the beds over here.  It is very hard, very hot and hard to sleep in these small hard beds.  I'm just glad I'm not in some of the areas that get way over a hundred degrees every day during the summer.

Well, that is all for now.  Love to all!

Week 16 and Week 17 in Chihuahua - March 26 and April 2, 2018

So, the week of March 26th was pretty uneventful and nothing much happened. Hey Mom, isn't it like your birthday soon?  I want you to take out some money from my account and buy yourself some lotion that smells nice.  Well, I'm sorry this is so short, but have to go and we'll talk to you next week!

I loved the Easter pictures you sent of everyone so much! haha.  Tell them thanks so much!  I wish I could have been there, that was so sweet of them. How was your birthday Mom?  Aunt Debra bought me a planner so send me a list of everyone's birthday so I can keep track of them.  Tell Uncle Steve thanks for putting my name in the temple every week and please thank everyone for keeping me in their prayers, it really helps a lot!

Ok so it looks like this will be my last week here in good old Rio Sacramento. Its been a good ride here but I'm ready to go to a new place. It's a weird feeling. I've been atending this ward here for 3 and halfish months and I've gotten to know alot of the people and it just feels normal but now I gotta leave everything for a new area which is crazy.  We weren't able to bring a lot of people to church this week because one of our members who lives with like 5 of our investigators got in a car wreck so that was rough, but everone is ok which is good.

We were teaching them the other day and one of them is the kid named Dana. She was playing with her slinky when her brother snatched it away and broke it haha. She looked so sad for a while so I decided to give her some money to buy a new one. The next time we visited them I asked her if she bought a new one and she was like " who, me? no." and I was like hmm ok hahah whatever. Then later she came up to me and said she was going to buy another one but her other bother took the money and bought some candy or something hahaha. I told the brother that he needs to buy her another one and he just started laughing. At that point I was like hmmm well I tried. It's a funny family.

There's this old grandpa that's always there and every time I ask him how he is doing he says " ohhh solo esperando la peluma" or something like that which means ohhhh I'm just waiting to die hahaha. He's funny.

Not too much happened this week though. A lot of the same stuff. We contacted this dude who has the biggest dog I've ever seen. I have a picture but it doesn't do this dog justice, like its massive. When I first met the dog I started petting it and I would try to leave and it wouldn't let me leave for like for 7 minutes I was stuck and couldn't walk away but finally I just like ran and got away haha. But that's all I have for this week.

Love you all!
